Welcome to my store!

I am Ane Hinnum, the owner and founder of The Friendly Cat Fabrics online store. If you like to sew and care about the environment, you’ve come to the right place.

 

I am a passionate sewer, but I also love to draw. In 2018 I combined my hobbies and started designing fabrics for myself and my children. In the Spring of 2020, I opened up this store to share my designs with other environmentally conscious sewers like you.

 

I started sewing when I had my first child in 2011. I looked around the internet for unique fabrics and read blogs about sewing. I soon realised that the textile industry can be harmful to the environment - I got hesitant to buy just any cute fabric I stumbled upon online.

 

When I sew clothes for my children, I want to make sure that the fabrics are safe to wear. I also look for fabrics that are not harmful to the environment and the people who produce them. If you are a mum or grandmother who sews for your loved ones, I am sure you feel the same.

 

I want to make it easy for you to sew clothes for your children and loved ones with a good conscience. All fabrics are designed by me, and I make sure that my suppliers are Oeko-tex certified and use organic or recycled material. It is also important to me that the supply chain is ethically sustainable.

  • Digitally printed fabrics
  • Fabrics printed in Europe
  • Mailing bags made from recycled polyethene (PE)

Customer service is important to me, and I will pack and ship your order within 1-2 business days. If for some unforeseen reason, handling time is delayed, I will contact you with the details.
